RIP to the 78 souls who died in the Spanish train crash.
Do we really need to see mobile phone footage of the crash though? Isn't it enough for people to simply be informed about it with a news report? I'm pretty sure we can all imagine what happened without reliving the horror of those dead from the safety of our comfy living room couch.
I really don't like this growing trend of creating sensationalist entertainment from tragedy. What's next? Are police going to sell ringside tickets at the next fatal pile up on the M1 to gawping goggle eyed spectators as they munch on hot dogs and popcorn?
This is footage the general public does not need to see. Showing it It serves no purpose whatsoever other than to entertain. Today if you find yourself logging into certain newspaper websites and you see a link to view the footage in question before you click on play just ask yourself...
What the fuck am I watching this FOR?!
