Remembering Richard Everitt

8th August 2006

Civil Liberty correspondent

Remembering Richard Everitt - the race hate murder forgotten because of political correctness

On Aug 13th 1994, near King's Cross in London, an Asian gang were looking for a specific white boy with whom they were in dispute. When he could not be found, the gang spotted the figure of 15 year old Richard Everitt, who was not a fast runner. ‘There’s a white boy’ they shouted. He was targeted precisely because he was white. He was cornered and stabbed to death by a member of the gang. The actual killer escaped to a Commonwealth country in the Indian sub-continent.

These facts are not in dispute.

The killer may have returned to London under a disguised identity. When he is found, hopefully, he will be brought to justice. There must be no escape for racist killers.

What is in ‘dispute’ is the nature of the offence.

Two members of the cowardly gang Akbar and Miah were charged with ‘joint enterprise’: a well-established principle of law and found guilty.

Their solicitor was Imran Khan, who was also solicitor for the family of Stephen Lawrence, who has since been constructed into a martyr figure by the media, particularly the BBC, who reopened the wounds recently in a TV programme on the case.

Imran Khan argued that there had been a’ miscarriage of justice’ for the ‘King's X 2’(sic).

Akbar and Miah appealed unsuccessfully and are serving a well-deserved jail sentence. Miah was recently let out to attend a family ceremony.

The Lawrence case was given a public inquiry through the manipulation of pressure groups allied to the human rights legal fraternity. It has become an industry linked to the 'human rights' community.

Sadique Khan MP for Tooting wrote the submission on behalf of Liberty.

Doreen Lawrence and Richard Stone, co-author of the notorious Macpherson report on the police handling of the murder, are now on the board of Liberty.

Imran Khan became a candidate for the far-left Socialist Labour Party, led by Arthur Scargill and now virtually moribund, and became active in the Law Society and the Association of Muslim Lawyers.

See here.

A member of the suspect gang who was also arrested, but released without charge, stood as a candidate for the Labour Party in the local elections.

Richard Everitt, a gentle giant, was slow for his age and perhaps was not destined for great things. But he was a human being whose life was snatched away for nothing by a cowardly Muslim gang.

Because he was white. It was a racist killing.

Stephen Lawrence has been remembered incessantly by awards, prizes, a bursary scheme open to black people only, an art gallery, a plaque, and a centre for training black people only.

But Everitt has been forgotten by the Labour Party, by the human rights industry, by the media and the rest of the politically correct state apparatus.

There are no memorials for Richard Everitt, no prizes in his honour, no silence in memory of him.

There was no campaign by the Camden-based Council for Race Relations, which denied the racist nature of the killing.

There was no recognition by Camden Council. When local Bengalis invaded Camden Town Hall, councillors cried publicly as they heard the descriptions of their 'traumatic overcrowding’.

But there were no tears for Richard Everitt. There was just silence. The council was frightened to condemn the killing as a racist murder. The Labour-run council denied it was a racist murder in order to curry favour with Bengali voters and their left-wing allies .
Thankfully, Labour has suffered at the polls recently in Camden.

Meanwhile, the area where Richard was murdered has worsened. The conflicts are now between rival Bengali gangs, which initially claimed that they had been formed in self-defence to ‘fight racism’. Now they kill each other with knives and guns in Camden Market.

In addition, the influx of violent Somali gangs has pitched Bengali against Somali gangs in a racial turf war. The Metropolitan police, obsessed with ‘diversity’, are unable to confront the problem of the diversity of crime.

There is a curfew throughout the summer to deal with public order problems. But the ubiquitous ‘anti-racist’ groups are silent about the race war on the streets of Camden Town. Just as they were silent after Richard Everitt was killed by a cowardly gang of Muslims twelve years ago.

Why was he killed? Because he was poor, working-class and white.

Why was he forgotten? Because he was poor, working-class and white.

That was Britain in 1994.

Twelve years later violent crime is rising. Twelve years later the explosive tensions remain because of the denial about the racism at the heart of violent crime.

Since Richard's death, there have been scores of white victims of racist crime and violence between ethnic gangs.

But the Crown Prosecution Service has never made a statement. It is too busy promoting ‘diversity’ with Stephen Lawrence as its symbol, while Imran Khan who defended two killers makes speeches about it to adoring crowds at ‘human rights’ conferences.

Richard Everitt - not forgotten, always remembered.

RIP
