In war there are no good guys. There are no bad guys. There is simply pain, suffering and death.
Who are we to condemn Assad's regime when we know so little of the insurgents he is battling? Today it is unlawful executions of prisoners of war. Yesterday it was a rebel commander eating the heart of one of Assad's Generals. Can we really be sure that British intelligence has it correct when it lays the blame for the chemical attack at Assad's door? It wasn't too long ago that this very same intelligence was assuring the country that there was no doubt whatsoever that Saddam was hiding WMD.
In civil war there will always be civilian casualties. Innocence is the currency of oppression. The solution to this conflict is not to interfere and add to the carnage and bloodshed.
The solution is to encourage peace and a ceasefire.
Assad is defending his state from a terrorist uprising. Either Britain is consistent with it's War on Terror or we are a nation of opportunistic hypocrites.
